MVP_Overview MVP_Overview link to virology faculty research

The Madison Virology Program (MVP) is an interdepartmental organization at the University of Wisconsin, Madison whose goal is to provide unified and supportive research and educational opportunities in basic and applied virology.

Currently, 25 faculty from 11 departments belong and participate in the MVP. Major thematic research areas include: molecular biology of virus transcription and replication, viral protein structure and function, virus-cell interactions, viral oncogenesis and pathogenesis, host response to viral infections, preventative strategies and virus evolution.

The MVP also provides a dynamic organization and administrative structure for the promotion and coordination of local, national and international virology-related professional activities, as they pertain to enhancing an outstanding research, training and teaching environment on the Madison campus.
