Invited speakers at four prominent virology conference series have been tracked from the 1980’s to the present day. The accumulated data are provided here so that future conference organizers have the information they need to assemble fresh and contemporary scientific programs. The publications representing the genesis of this work are listed below and contain contextual information, advice to future conference organizers and discussion points for implementing and expanding efforts to make virology conferences more objective, unbiased, educational, and constructive.
